We are a volunteer group that takes care of the needs of anyone in our church family when emergencies or special happenings go on. However this ministry is such an open ended helps ministry that is always adding to the list of things we handle. But if we can not assist you or if it is larger than what we are set up for than we will try to lead you to someone who can. We are here to help in any capacity we can. There are so many things that we can all do to help each other and I believe that any skill or talent you have can be utilized in this ministry!!
Some examples are:
* Bringing dinners to families after childbirth or other needed situations.
* Providing help with children for overwhelmed new moms.
* Brining those without transportation to doctor’s appointments.
* Helping single moms or the elderly with chores around the house.
* Sending encouragement, get well or sympathy cards to our church family.
In addition, we now have our own “Craig’s List” type website that we are apart of where you can list a need or offer to help with a need that’s posted. It’s called Ark Almighty and it is a wonderful bonus to the Helping Hands Ministry because you can list a need and be matched up with someone who can help with that need. For example: you may be a single mom with a son who needs help with baseball and someone from our church can log onto arkalmighty.com and they can offer there assistance. With all this you can have the assurance that we will screen responses so it will be a more controlled environment.
I have been doing this ministry for the past several years and it blesses me to help people and see their needs being met!!. I would really love to see this ministry grow more and more so that every need in our church family would be handled no matter how big or small!!!
